In observance of the Juneteenth federal holiday, all Douglas County Government offices will be closed on Thursday, June 19. Offices will reopen on Friday, June 20, for normal business. Ballot drop boxes and VSPC Services (opening Monday, June 16) will still be available. Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services.

The Douglas County Veterans Service Office in conjunction with the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation will conduct a Veterans Day Tribute on Saturday, Nov. 6, beginning at 11 a.m. at the DC Veterans Monument Plaza located at the corner of Wilcox and Fourth Streets in downtown Castle Rock. The program will feature a special remembrance and will honor all veterans – past and present.
Sponsor a wreath now for a Wreaths Across America (WAA) Ceremony on Dec. 18
Wreath-laying ceremonies to honor veterans will be held on Dec. 18 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock and at Fort Logan National Cemetery. Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies in all 50 states and beyond.
The ceremony at Cedar Hill is at 10 a.m. and is being organized by American Heritage Girls Troop 8909 – sponsor a wreath using this form. Volunteers to participate in the wreath-laying are welcome.
