You know that life is unpredictable and being prepared helps everyone navigate unexpected emergencies. Just like you, Douglas County is always preparing for the future, and part of that includes investing now in a robust network of relief, including a Community Emergency Relief Fund with our partners at the Douglas County Community Foundation (DCCF).
This fund directly assists emergency response-focused nonprofit organizations and first responders in Douglas County during catastrophic events, such as wildfires, floods or other disasters, affecting our residents. It also ensures that emergency relief funds can be quickly accessed and distributed directly to those most impacted in Douglas County.
In support of the fund, at their Sept. 9 Business Meeting, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners approved $100,000 in Community Emergency Relief matching funds for donations received at the upcoming Douglas County Community Foundation’s Heroes Gala on Friday, Sept. 12, 2025. An additional $100,000 in matching funds approved by Commissioners will be given to DCCF for 2025 community grants, which are earmarked for organizations working to support those most in need in our community.
Watch this video as Douglas County Commissioner Abe Laydon discusses goals for the Emergency Relief Fund and what you can do to be a part of this mission.
