We all know someone who has served in America’s armed forces. If you served, we thank you.
In honor of the men and women of the armed forces, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners, Douglas County Veterans Service Office and the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation invite you to a Veterans Day ceremony to honor our American heroes. The event begins at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Veterans Monument Plaza, 301 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock.
This year, the program will feature former Navy SEAL and current motivational and leadership speaker, Phillip Koontz.
Other speakers include Col. Sean Pechon (USMC, Retired), Douglas County Veterans Service officer Chris Maes (US Army, Retired) and Douglas County Commissioners George Teal (US Army), Abe Laydon and Kevin Van Winkle.
The event will also feature music from local musician and 30-year Colorado resident Byron Miller.
Douglas County Government offices will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11, in observance of the official federal holiday.
