In observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday, all Douglas County Government offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, 2026. Offices will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 17, for normal business. Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services.
Due to a statewide DMV upgrade, all online driver license, motor vehicle, and MVExpress kiosk services will be unavailable beginning the evening of Friday, Feb. 13, until the system re-launches on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Douglas County Motor Vehicle offices will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for system testing.

Douglas County residents enduring hard times can take advantage of a free hot meal and have access to more than 20 local service organizations at the upcoming Strive to Thrive Resource and Service Fair from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Calvary Castle Rock, 1100 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.
This free event provides attendees with information on where to access food and clothing, medical assistance and more while providing them with the opportunity to receive many of those benefits at the event.
Attendees also can learn about employment opportunities, how to apply for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, formerly food stamps), and many other supportive services.
