In this photo, you can see the new southbound US 85 bridge being built over C-470. Upcoming closures at this interchange will allow crews to pour the concrete deck on top of the concrete bridge beams pictured here. Construction to improve mobility at this interchange is part of the US 85 widening project.

June 12 Update: This closure has been postponed due to weather. Learn how weather impacts construction on our webpage.

Give yourself extra time to drive C-470 or US 85 (Santa Fe Drive) in Highlands Ranch overnight next week. Several detours will be in place around the interchange of C-470 and US 85 from 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, to 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 14.

These closures are necessary for driver and worker safety during overhead bridge work. During these closures, crews will pour the concrete bridge surface to form a portion of a new US 85 bridge over C-470. The work is a key milestone in the project to widen US 85 from Highlands Ranch Parkway to just north of C-470 and improve traffic flow at several intersections, including this interchange.

Please take an alternate route or plan extra time. Pay close attention to posted speed limits and signage. Watch for crews.

Here are the planned detours:

Through traffic on eastbound and westbound C-470

Eastbound C-470 traffic going north or south on US 85

Westbound C-470 traffic going north or south on US 85

Northbound US 85 traffic

Southbound US 85 traffic

If weather conditions do not allow this work to take place as originally scheduled, crews will conduct this work at a later date.
