Plan for statewide DMV upgrade and temporary service outage

Colorado Motor Vehicle and Driver License services will be unavailable the evening of Friday, Feb. 13, through Monday, Feb. 16

If you need motor vehicle or driver license services in January or February 2026, please plan to complete your service early. The Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is upgrading its entire system to provide a simpler, faster, and more secure DMV experience.

Customers can look forward to a secure, logged-in customer portal where they can easily manage vehicle registration and driver license information. The upgraded system will also feature modernized online tools that are intuitive and faster to use on any device.

If you need motor vehicle or driver license services, please plan to complete your service before the upgrade begins on Friday, Feb. 13.

The Colorado DMV appreciates the community’s patience during this statewide system upgrade. Once the new system is live, customers can look forward to a streamlined user experience featuring fast and intuitive online tools that can be used on any device.
