Douglas County works to foster a vibrant, business-friendly climate that enable citizens, taxpayers and businesses the opportunity to prosper.
Economic development programs work to promote a business-friendly environment, resulting in improved potential to attract new businesses, as well as to retain and expand existing businesses. In 2024, the Northwest Douglas County Chamber and EDC merged with the Douglas County Economic Development Collaborative to form the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation.
Douglas County is committed to fostering job growth by encouraging new business development, business relocation, and the expansion of existing companies. Douglas County offers incentives on a case-by-case basis and requires approval by the Board of County Commissioners. The incentive program is facilitated by the Douglas County Economic Development Corporation.
Other incentives may be available through the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT), such as performance-based incentive payments to qualifying companies. This may include state income tax credits, sales and use tax exemptions, and customized job-training grants. OEDIT also provides financing tools for businesses.
