If you are an older adult, a disabled Veteran, or a Gold Star Spouse, you may have questions about property tax exemptions. Your Douglas County Assessor’s Office wants to help.

The Senior Property Tax (Homestead Exemption), the Disabled Veterans, and Gold Star Spouse exemptions allow 50% of the first $200,000 of actual value to be exempted, which equates to between $600 and $1,000.

Watch this video from the Douglas County Assessor’s Office to find out if you qualify and how to apply. The application deadline is July 15.

For more information on the 2023-24 assessment year, visit the Assessor’s Website or watch a recent Live Town Hall.
