Do you have a passion for your Douglas County Libraries’ mission and vision and wish to play an instrumental role in the future success of the library district?

The seven-member Library District Board of Trustees is accepting applications to fill three upcoming vacancies: two in Commissioner District II (Castle Rock, Larkspur) and one in Commissioner District I (Lone Tree, Parker). View a map of Douglas County Commissioner Districts here. These positions are intended to be filled in January of 2025.

Applicants for the Trustee position should be Douglas County residents with diverse skills and expertise including, but not limited to, strategic business planning, communications, technology, finance or law. In addition, it is preferred that applicants have knowledge of board governance, experience serving on a board and knowledge of Douglas County communities.

Library Trustees are appointed by the Douglas County Commissioners to a three-year term with a limit of four terms. Each member is expected to attend regular monthly evening meetings, informal monthly board lunches, and an annual half-day retreat. Members are also required to serve on various committees with ongoing responsibilities.

Candidates are encouraged to review the Policies of the Douglas County Libraries on their webpage.

Applications will be accepted online through Tuesday, Oct. 15. For additional information, please contact the Douglas County Commissioners’ Office at 303-660-7401.
