Would you like to be involved in planning for the future of Douglas County?

If you’re a Douglas County resident who has knowledge of land use, zoning, community planning, and growth and wishes to be engaged in the future of your home, the County seeks your willingness to apply for one of two vacancies for alternates on the Planning Commission. There is one opening in District I (northeastern Douglas County including Lone Tree and Parker) and one opening in District II (Castle Rock and southern Douglas County).

Planning Commission members adopt and certify the County’s Master Plan, review and make recommendations on land use applications, conduct studies on growth and land use and recommend zoning and subdivision regulation amendments to the Board of County Commissioners.

Meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month and may be adjusted for holidays.

Please apply online by Friday, Feb. 23, 2024. For additional information, please contact the Douglas County Commissioners’ Office at 303-660-7401.
