Here in Douglas County, agriculture has shaped our identity, economy, and sense of place for hundreds of years.
Agritourism offers valuable opportunities for residents to take part in activities where they can experience and learn about various facets of the agricultural industry, culinary pursuits, natural resources, and heritage.
The Board of Douglas County Commissioners is committed to increasing accessibility to agritourism for both rural landowners and all community members. In 2026, the Board will consider proposed updates to its zoning regulations to better define, allow, and streamline agritourism activities.
On Thursday, Jan. 8, at 5:30 p.m., residents are invited to attend a public workshop to learn more about agritourism and the proposed zoning changes and provide feedback.
