In observance of Christmas, all Douglas County offices will close at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and will be closed for the entire day on Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26, for normal business. Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services.
County AdministrationThe County Manager is responsible for implementing policies set by the Board of County Commissioners, recommending best practices and overseeing county operations. The Manager and staff develop short- and long-term operational plans; evaluate planning systems, personnel, equipment, facilities and records; and establish procedures for effective county management. The office also serves as a liaison with other jurisdictions and agencies.
County Manager Doug DeBord has been an employee of Douglas County since 1995 and has served in the role of County Manager since 1998. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the county government. DeBord has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association.
