Fallen service members to be honored

Douglas County is home to three ceremonies this Memorial Day

 

A time to pay respects to all the service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving their country, Memorial Day will be May 30 this year.

Three ceremonies are being held in Douglas County, as well as Fort Logan Cemetery in Denver.  Join us this Memorial Day to honor those who lost their lives while fighting for our freedom this Memorial Day to honor those who lost their lives while fighting for freedom:

  • Castle Rock: 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 880 E. Wolfensberger Rd.
  • Denver: 11 a.m. at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave.
  • Parker: 10 a.m. at JS Parker Cemetery, 10375 S. Parker Rd.
  • Sedalia: 11 a.m. at St. Philip in the Field, 397 S. Perry Park Rd.

Aug. 2, 2021 - VA Adds New Southwest Asia Presumptive

The VA will begin processing claims on August 2 for asthma, rhinitis, and sinusitis on a presumptive basis for particular matter exposures during service in Southwest Asia if these conditions manifested within 10 years of a qualifying period of military service. Funds available to serve at-risk veterans

Emergency assistance is available to veterans struggling with housing (mortgage and rent payments), transportation, employment, healthcare or other emergency needs. To apply for the veteran’s assistance funds visit Veterans Emergency Assistance Funds or call 303-663-6200.
