Maybe you’re working more from home, or your kids need access to online school, or perhaps you have a virtual doctor’s appointment. The pandemic changed how we live and work – and in many cases, it grew our dependence on broadband internet service.

However, many of our citizens – in both rural and urban areas – are either unserved or underserved by an Internet provider. Join a Live Town Hall at 6 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, to learn about the County’s recent broadband study and give your input on the potential for a related ballot question in November.

The Live Town Hall will be in-person at the Philip Miller Building, 100 Third St. in Castle Rock. Those who join in-person will have an opportunity to speak personally with commissioners and panelists after the hour-long event.

Or join online at douglas.co.us/townhall or via phone by calling 833-380-0668. Or simply answer the phone when we call to invite you to join us. To receive a call just before a Live Town Hall begins, visit douglas.co.us/townhall and register.

In 2021, Douglas County commissioned a study to understand the needs and gaps in broadband service throughout the County. The study was completed in February. The study not only details the gaps in service, but also highlights community feedback that there is a desire for County government to be involved in providing broadband service – much like local governments do for other utilities.
