Commissioners to host public engagement event online and on the phone at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 17
We heard you when you said you had more questions about Home Rule. To answer as many voter questions as possible, Douglas County Commissioners will host a Q&A-focused event online and via phone beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17. Commissioners are prepared to go longer than one hour and answer your questions.
Learn more about Home Rule, read the election booklet, view pro and con statements, and read FAQs on our Home Rule webpage.
Ways to Participate in the June 17 Home Rule Q&A
- Watch online at douglas.co.us/townhall. (Prior to the event, a pop-up box will appear. The technical issue from the event in May has been resolved.)
- Listen via phone by calling 833-380-0668 (please note that to avoid technical difficulties, you cannot watch online and listen on the phone at the same time)
- Simply answer the phone when we call to invite you to join us. To receive a call just before a Live Town Hall begins, register on our webpage.
Why is this event being held virtually?
Colorado Election Law (C.R.S. 1-13-714) prohibits electioneering within 100 feet of polling centers and ballot drop box locations. This includes campaigning for or against any candidate or measure on the ballot. Because the ballot drop box in front of the Douglas County Government building, where the hearing room is located, is now open, our Douglas County Clerk and Recorder, who is responsible for the statutory conduct of elections, has advised of the potential for electioneering violations, whether intentional or not.
