Volunteer sought for part-time Veterans Service Officer position.

If you are a veteran with a desire to help fellow veterans, consider applying to be a part-time, volunteer Douglas County Veterans Service Officer. Applications will be accepted through Oct. 30, 2020.

The successful applicant will be eligible to receive a $650 monthly stipend and work part-time, generally Tuesdays 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., and Wednesdays 9 a.m. – noon.

Duties include assisting veterans and their dependents applying for VA benefits and services, as well as providing administrative support in the County’s Veterans Service Office in Castle Rock. Competent computer skills with some knowledge of Microsoft Office are a must.

Appointed by the Board of County Commissioners to a two-year term, the successful applicant must provide proof of prior military service in the United States Army, Air Force, Marine Corps, Navy or Coast Guard, as well as proof of an honorable discharge.
