Douglas County property owners receive a historic $37.8 million in tax relief – about $200 per residential property

Do you own a home or other property in Douglas County? Check your mail this week for your property tax relief refund check.

In 2023, Douglas County homeowners experienced the largest increase in home values in state history. While property value reassessment is a state-controlled process, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners acted at the local level to mitigate this impact, including a reduction in Douglas County’s share of your property tax bill.
