Did you know that nearly 50% of Douglas County’s annual budget is invested in projects and initiatives to maintain and improve our transportation network?

During a regular business meeting Tuesday, April 26, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners advanced several transportation projects in partnership with our surrounding communities by entering into, or amending, several intergovernmental agreements.

These agreements formalize partnerships, determine shared funding, and define each entity’s responsibilities for the project from design through construction and into ongoing maintenance. On Tuesday, the Board approved seven agreements with state and local governments to partner on transportation projects from Parker to Roxborough to Castle Rock.

You can read the details of these agreements in the Board’s agenda online.

All of these projects were identified in the County’s 2040 Transportation Master Plan, which was developed with your feedback and in partnership with state and local governments.

A safe and accessible multimodal transportation network is one of the Board of County Commissioner’s six core priorities. Read more about the County’s transportation initiatives online.
