Youth Initiative

Youth Congress

Youth Congress is a project of the Douglas County Youth Initiative. Youth from across Douglas County weigh in on issues that affect them and share their ideas and solutions with elected and community leaders. Adult leaders work alongside youth throughout the day on topics that matter to Douglas County youth.

Participant Requirements and Details

Students in 9th–12th grade who live in Douglas County may participate
Parent/guardian permission is required
Participants receive six hours of community service and an excused school absence
Lunch is provided (please bring money if you want a drink from vending machines; a small bottle of water is provided)
