By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.

In observance of the Presidents Day holiday, all Douglas County Government offices will be closed and the Link On Demand rideshare service will be unavailable on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026. Link On Demand and County offices will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 17, for normal business. Many County services are available 24/7 by visiting online services.

Due to a statewide DMV upgrade, online driver license services are unavailable, and motor vehicle and MVExpress kiosk services will be unavailable beginning the evening of Friday, Feb. 13, until the system re-launches on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Douglas County Motor Vehicle offices will be closed on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. for system testing.

The County Manager is responsible for implementing policies set by the Board of County Commissioners, recommending best practices and overseeing county operations. The Manager and staff develop short- and long-term operational plans; evaluate planning systems, personnel, equipment, facilities and records; and establish procedures for effective county management. The office also serves as a liaison with other jurisdictions and agencies.

Mission of the County Manager’s Office:

County Manager Doug DeBord has been an employee of Douglas County since 1995 and has served in the role of County Manager since 1998. He is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the county government. DeBord has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. He is a member of the International City/County Management Association.

County Manager reports prior to 2024 are linked on the business meeting agendas through our Meetings and Agendas Platform.

  1. Navigate to our Meetings and Agendas Platform.
  2. On the Board of County Commissioner Meetings tab, be sure the drop down next to Body Name is set to Board of County Commissioners Business Meeting.
  3. Hover over or select “Date: This Month” to select the time period you’d like to view.
  4. Once you locate the desired meeting, select Agenda.
  5. Scroll down to the County Manager section and select the link to view the report.
