Do you know a 12 to 18-year-old who would like to play sports while connecting with caring adults?

Check out La Liga, a free sports league that provides youth with the chance to get active while building community and connections. Watch this video of the recent La Liga basketball session to hear from participants about their experience.

Soccer season is just beginning, so now is the perfect time to get involved. Back for the second year in Castle Rock, and starting this season in Parker, La Liga Fùtbol Club is co-ed, grades 6-12 and any skill level can join the fun. To create an enjoyable experience for the whole family, adult coaches and refs are both Spanish and English speaking.

“La Liga gives kids, that might not normally have the opportunity, a chance to come out, play and have fun,” said Douglas County Commissioner Abe Laydon, “it creates a place where young people are engaged and excited to be a part of this community.”

Castle Rock games will be Thursdays from 6-8 p.m. beginning May 23 and continuing through July 25 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. Parker games are taking place at Stroh Field from 6-8 p.m. on Mondays from June 3 through July 29. Uniforms and snacks or dinner will be provided at no charge and family members are encouraged to stay and cheer the players on.

La Liga is a partnership of the Douglas County Youth Initiative, Iglesia Nueva Vida, and the Douglas County School District.
