Project Update

Anticipated construction start date has changed from April 2023 to July 2023.

Description

The project will consist of realigning Bayou Gulch Road between Vistancia Drive and Scott Avenue to match improvements constructed by the Cielo Development north of Scott Avenue. Additionally, improvements will be made to the section of Bayou Gulch Road between Pradera Parkway and Vistancia Drive and will include roadway widening, drainage improvements, and resurfacing of the existing asphalt pavement. The proposed roadway section will have asphalt pavement, 3 feet wide shoulders, and a continuous concrete sidewalk for pedestrian access.

This project also includes:

  • A new urban storm sewer system that will outlet into an existing permanent water quality pond located on the Cielo Development which was expanded by Douglas County last year in preparation for this project.
  • An extension of a dual 6’ by 6’ box culvert to accommodate the new alignment and “ultimate” four-lane major arterial section roadway width.

Schedule

Construction is anticipated to start in July 2023.
