Updated January 13, 2023: Construction is anticipated to begin in summer/fall of 2023.
Project Duration: About 24 months.
In August 2019, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) selected this project to receive $10 million for construction in federal funding through the DRCOG Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Subregion project selection process. The other portion of construction funding is being provided by the City of Littleton ($1 million), City of Centennial ($4.5 million), and Douglas County ($4.5 million). The total estimated project cost is $20 million, but more recent construction estimates are around $25 million, which will require additional funding from the project funding partners.
This segment of County Line Road will be reconstructed and widened from two to four through lanes; and includes installing a new traffic signal at the Clarkson Street/County Line Road intersection, providing a mill and overlay for the portion of the road within the City of Littleton located between Phillips Avenue and Broadway as well as adding sidewalks. During 2022, the County took steps to finalize the design and advance right-of-way acquisition and prepared a design to relocate a major water line.
