Planning/Design

Project Manager

Neil Sarno, Engineer III
[email protected] 303-916-7688

Description

Douglas County Engineering staff is currently completing design for the replacement of the Dakan Road Bridge. This project consists of demolition of the existing structure and replacing 151 feet of bridge over West Plum Creek, as well as 1,750 feet of roadway improvements. The project includes removal and replacement of the present structure, hot mix asphalt, erosion control, site restoration, traffic control as well as other roadway items. The proposed structure will be built to the north of the existing structure, thereby allowing the existing structure to remain open to the traveling public and emergency service vehicles during construction. The anticipated construction start date is late spring/early summer 2026.
