By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning, and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County. Douglas County staff developed a comprehensive Bicycle Plan that was implemented in 2009, combining off-street trails with new on-street bike lanes. Both the on- and off-street bicycle facilities are shown on the Douglas County Bicycle Map, which was updated in 2025. The North West Douglas County Bicycling Map is also available for further reference and can be printed on 8 1/2 X 14 or larger paper. Users can zoom to a specific bike trail section for viewing purposes.
