Comprehensive Bike Plan

Douglas County staff developed a comprehensive Bicycle Plan that was implemented in 2009, combining off-street trails with new on-street bike lanes. Both the on- and off-street bicycle facilities are shown on the Douglas County Bicycle Map, which was updated in 2025. The North West Douglas County Bicycling Map is also available for further reference and can be printed on 8 1/2 X 14 or larger paper. Users can zoom to a specific bike trail section for viewing purposes.

The County regularly works with local jurisdictions and regional stakeholders to review and update the Bicycle Plan. The Bicycle Map is updated as needed to reflect current bicycle facilities in the area. Please contact the local municipalities for details regarding their bicycle facilities and Douglas County Public Works Engineering at 303-660-7490 for unincorporated areas.
