Comprehensive Bike Plan

Douglas County staff have developed a comprehensive Bicycle Plan, combining off-street trails with new on-street bike lanes, and the plan which was implemented in 2009. Both the on- and off-street bicycle facilities are shown on the Douglas County Bicycle Map, which was updated in 2020. The North West Douglas County Bicycling Map is also available for further reference and can be printed on 8 1/2 X 14 or larger paper. Users can zoom to a specific bike trail section for viewing purposes.

The County regularly works with local jurisdictions and regional stakeholders to review and update the Bicycle Plan. The Bicycle Map is updated as needed to reflect current bicycle facilities in the area. Free copies of the map are available at Douglas County facilities and bicycle shops. Please contact the local municipalities for details regarding their bicycle facilities and Douglas County Public Works Engineering at 303-660-7490 for unincorporated areas.
