By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County.  Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning, and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.

Rueter-Hess Water Recreation

Open Fridays through Mondays

 8 am to 5 pm

Water Recreation Closed November 17th  to Mid-Spring

Open to Paddle Sports, Shoreline Fishing, Trail Access, and Hiking

The cost for parking is $10 per day per vehicle. Register Here

  • Lifejackets must be worn by all participants while on the water
  • Ages 2 to 7 may share a watercraft with a guardian. Ages 8 to 15 may have their own watercraft but a registered adult guardian must be present on the water
  • Online reservations only
  • Pets allowed on trails only, pets are not allowed on or near the water or shoreline
  • No swimming
  • No rafts or inflatable tubes except blow-up paddle boards, river pontoons, and multi-chambered kayaks
  • No alcohol or glass containers
  • Trailers are not permitted
