CSBG

Community Services Block Grant (CSBG)

Worried family reviewing financial documents

A family has concerns while reviewing financial documents.

The purpose of the CSBG program is to provide opportunities for vulnerable residents in Douglas County to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through a collaborative and supportive framework of care.

The CSBG is a state program funded through a federal block grant which provides resources to assist low-income residents.  In Douglas County, this grant is administered through the CSBG Tripartite Board and County staff.  CSBG funds for the 2021-2023 program year have been allocated through the Community Action Plan to support residents working to achieve self-sufficiency through employment.  These funds may be used to provide stable housing, tools and uniforms for work, dental care, eye care, transportation to and from work, emergency utility payment and hotel vouchers.

Currently, CSBG funds support residents participating in Douglas County Cares, and partners with the Colorado Department of Local Affairs, Colorado Community Action Association and Community Action Partnership.
