Public Hearing rescheduled and Comment Period extended
The Consolidated Plan
Douglas County drafted a five-year Consolidated Plan as required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan was developed through a five-month community engagement process, asking residents, stakeholders, and service providers to help identify gaps in services and suggest priorities for spending future CDBG funds. The Con Plan includes priorities and goals based on housing and demographic analysis and the feedback received during the engagement process. Concurrently, competitive applications were solicited, and eligible organizations submitted requests for funds benefiting low- and moderate-income residents. A review committee prepared funding recommendations based on weighted criteria used to evaluate and score the applications. A list of the organizations and activities recommended for funding is described in the Consolidated Plan. The 2021 allocation of $711,436 is summarized here.
The public is invited to provide feedback on the Consolidated Plan. A 30-day public comment period has been extended until July 12, 2021. A public hearing will be held on July 13, 2021, when the Board of County Commissioners will review and vote on the Plan. The virtual and in-person public hearing will be held at the Philip S. Miller Building, County Commissioners’ Hearing Room, 100 Third Street, Castle Rock, at 2:30 p.m. The public is invited to learn about the Plan by using the link above or email comments on the Plan to [email protected].
