By order of Sheriff Darren Weekly, Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place for unincorporated areas of Douglas County.  Ordinance No. O-012-004 restricts open fires, open burning, and the use of fireworks in the unincorporated areas of Douglas County.

In observance of the New Year’s Day holiday, all Douglas County offices will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026. Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, for normal business. Many County services are available 24/7 on our online services page.

SNAP Benefits for November 2025 are on hold due to the federal government shutdown.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has not released the funds that states use to pay SNAP (food assistance) benefits. This means Colorado is unable to issue November SNAP benefits to clients until the federal government restores funding. This hold impacts all SNAP households and cannot be appealed.
