Ballots for the June 24, 2025, Special Election will be mailed to eligible voters in Douglas County beginning on June 2, 2025. That means now is the time to visit Colorado’s secure, statewide voter registration database, GoVoteColorado.gov, to:

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners called the Special Election to ask voters whether to form a Home Rule Charter Commission and to select 21 Home Rule Charter Commission Members. To view a composite sample ballot, visit the On the Ballot page on DouglasVotes.com. Voters will receive a ballot containing only those districts and contests specific to the residential address for which they are eligible to vote.

If voters approve the formation of a Home Rule Charter Commission, the Board of Douglas County Commissioners will set a date within 30 days for the elected Commission Members to hold their first meeting. The Commission will have 240 days from its first meeting to create a charter to submit for placement on a future election ballot. During that time, there will also be at least three public meetings. Visit the Douglas County Home Rule Charter webpage for more information.
