Green Yard Waste Program

The Green Yard Waste Program is back starting Saturday, April 6


The Douglas County residents can dispose of “Green Yard Waste” at the County’s Slash/Mulch site at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.

No actual compost will be on the site nor will the County be actively composting material, however, the County will be contracting to compost yard waste that is delivered by residents.

In case of inclement weather, please call 303-663-6274 to ensure that the site will be open as scheduled.

Dumping will only be allowed while the facility is staffed on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. April 6, through Oct. 26, at which time the site will close for the season.

Other Programs

Slash Mulch

The Slash-mulch site, located in Castle Rock,  is for Douglas County residents only and is open on Saturdays from April through October 26, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Fall Leaf Collection

Leave the leaves with us (and out of the landfill) at the County’s Leaf collection site at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock. Watch for updates in the fall.
