Douglas County Emergency Management officials have scheduled a prescribed burn at Spruce Meadows starting at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 12. Smoke will be visible in the Larkspur, Perry Park and surrounding areas; please do not call 911. Learn more about prescribed fire and today’s burn.
Fall leaf drop off dates, Saturdays ONLY: Nov. 1, Nov. 8, Nov. 15
As the seasons change, so do your yardwork needs. You can now keep leaves out of the landfill by taking them to Douglas County’s new Fall Leaf Collection site, open Saturdays in November from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. through Nov. 16 at 1400 Caprice Drive in Castle Rock.
Leaves, slash, and green yard waste like grass clippings will be accepted at the County’s slash-mulch site from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 25. Then, only leaves will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 1, Nov. 8, and Nov. 15.
In case of inclement weather, please call 303-548-7810 to ensure that the site will be open as scheduled.
