The Board of Douglas County Commissioners has called for a Special Election to ask voters whether to form a Home Rule Charter Commission and to select 21 Home Rule Charter Commission Members. The Douglas County Office of Clerk and Recorder is responsible for the statutory conduct of the June 24, 2025, Special Election. Ballots will be mailed to all eligible voters in Douglas County beginning on Monday, June 2. Follow the checklist below to make sure you are election-ready, and remember, DouglasVotes.com is your official source for election information.
- Check your voter registration or register to vote. Visit Colorado’s secure, statewide voter registration database, GoVoteColorado.gov, to register to vote, check your voter registration status, select your political affiliation, or update your mailing address. If your mailing address has changed since you last voted in a Douglas County election, be certain to update it now to ensure you receive your mail ballot and other important election information.
- Track your mail ballot. Visit DouglasVotes.com to sign up for phone, text, or email notifications from BallotTrax and watch your ballot from the time it’s mailed to you to when it’s accepted at Douglas County Elections.
- Locate your closest Ballot Drop Box or Voter Service and Polling Center (VSPC). Did you know that 90% of Douglas County voters prefer to deliver their ballots for free using one of the convenient ballot drop box locations countywide? Twenty-one secure ballot drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day beginning June 2, 2025, through 7 p.m. on Election Day, June 24, 2025. For those who need in-person voter assistance, three VSPC locations will open on Monday, June 16. Visit a VSPC of your choice to register to vote or update your voter registration, replace a ballot, drop off your voted ballot, vote in person, or use an ADA-accessible voting machine until 7 p.m. on Election Day.
