Tax Authority
--Tax Authority detail. The section displays the taxing authorities for your property. https://www.douglas.co.us/assessor/taxing-authorities/
--The taxes are calculated by multiplying the Total Assessed value times the Tax Levy/1000 ($81,200.00 X 89.564/1000 = $7,272.60).
--The same process applies to each authority i.e Douglas County Government would be $81,200 X 18.774/1000 = $1,524.45.
Valuation
--Value as determined by the Assessor for your account. https://www.douglas.co.us/assessor/
--For residential statements the assessed value is calculated by multiplying the actual value by 7.2%
--For Personal, Commercial or Vacant land statements the assessed value is calculated by multiplying the Actual Value by 29%
--The value associated to the Senior/Veteran Exemption is displayed here for qualifying accounts.
--The Net Total is the value the taxes in the Tax Authority Section are based upon.
Special Messages
This section will display any special messages related to the tax statement for the tax account.

Totals, Fees and Credits
--The total rate and total taxes based on the Assessed value and Total Levy.
--If your statement has fees or special assessments you will see those amounts displayed here. Those charges are in addition to the taxes based on the value.
--If you qualify for the Senior or Veteran Exemptions the amount of that exemption is displayed here and the reduced tax is displayed in the Grand Total.
--If you have chosen to pre pay your taxes the amount of your prepayment shows here and the Grand Total will reflect the balance due.
Unpaid Prior Year Taxes
Delinquent Taxes are not included in the Grand Total.
Notification that your property has taxes from previous billing year still unpaid. These can be unpaid taxes or tax liens.

--Prior Taxes due will display "Yes. Contact Office"
Statutory Schools Note
This section displays what the school mill levy and revenues would have been if the state funding were not available.
Property and Legal Information
This section will display the property address on file with the Assessor's office.
--Not all properties have an address, this may not display any information if there is not an address for the tax account.
The second portion of this area is for the legal or location description of the account.
--Most descriptions will fit in this area however some of the descriptions can be quite lengthy so this will only display what will fit in the space provided.
Email Verification Code
--Use this code to go online and register for ebilling. Once you have registered your tax bill will be sent to the email address you entered when you registered.
--If you want to change your email address. Re-register using the same Verification Code to update your email address.
Second Half Billing Address
The billing information displayed here is from the Assessor's Office.
However, if you have filed a forwarding address request with the USPS the billing address reflected here may not be the address on file in Douglas County. You will need to update your address with Douglas County.
