Darrell Roberts is serving his first term as Douglas County Surveyor having been elected in November 2022.
Darrell has more than 38 years of land surveying experience, having started out as a rodman for a major Engineering firm in Denver, eventually working 23 years for Douglas County, Public Works, Engineering Department. He worked his way up to become the Manager of the Engineering Inspections Division, the Pavement Management Team, the Utility Locator and the Survey Crew. Darrell has worn many hats throughout his career but always gravitated to his love of surveying and working outdoors. He obtained his Professional Land Surveyor license in 2001.
Darrell was born and raised in west-central Kansas. After serving four years in the United States Navy he relocated to Colorado. Darrell married his wife Tanell in 1986 and they have two grown children.
He enjoys spending time outdoors both fishing and hunting. He is also a DIY (do-it-yourself) guy who enjoys fixing things around the house or working on the “Honey Do List” for his wife.
