2050 Douglas County Water Plan

Help shape the future of our water supply!

The goal of the 2050 Comprehensive Douglas County Water Plan is to inform long-term strategic water planning and put the foundation in place for a stronger water future, with a better understanding of supply, demand and strategies to address water dependability into the future.

In partnership with water providers throughout Douglas County, the 2050 Comprehensive Douglas County Water Plan will begin with an evaluation of current water supplies and current demand. County growth scenarios will inform an analysis of future demand. Your feedback will be key to developing concrete strategies for a sustainable water future as we grow.

You already know that a sustainable water supply is essential to our community’s future. A survey will be launched early summer 2025. This will be your opportunity to tell us what you think and ask questions to help develop Douglas County’s first long-term water plan.

Download the fact sheet.

Project Schedule

The planning process will take approximately 18 months and will focus on all unincorporated areas of Douglas County. It will also provide data and information to incorporated areas and water providers to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
