Disasters can happen at any time. Are YOU ready?

The CodeRED emergency notification system is experiencing a statewide outage.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has multiple contingency plans in place to ensure we can reach the public in the event of an emergency:

  • Social media notifications (follow Douglas County and the Sheriff’s Office)
  • Door-t0-door communication, if necessary
  • The ability to send IPAWS alerts through our partnerships with the Colorado Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency

Access and Functional Needs Registry

If you were asked to evacuate your home, could you without assistance?  For the millions of Americans who have physical, developmental or intellectual disabilities, chronic conditions or injuries and other access and functional needs (AFN), emergencies present a real challenge.

Individuals having AFNs may also include individuals with disabilities, older adults, populations with limited English proficiency, limited access to transportation and/or limited access to financial resources to prepare for, respond to and recover from a disaster.
