Douglas County has applied to the state for its allocation of Colorado Senate Bill 20B-001 funding to issue small business relief grants. Eligibility and application requirements have been determined by the state. As a result, the application will be open for a period of 21 days and funding allocations will be determined after all applications have been received.
Eligibility
Eligible businesses as defined in SB20B-001 include:
- Restaurants
- Bars (includes establishments like a Winery, Brewery, Distillery, etc.)
- Caterers
- Movie Theatres
- Gyms & Recreation Centers
Grants* will be awarded based on 2019 sales or revenue established in the legislation.
- Revenue less than $500,000, eligible for a grant up to $3,500
- Revenue greater than $500,000 but less than $1 million, eligible for a grant of up to $5,000
- Revenue greater than $1 million, eligible for a grant of up to $7,000
*Final grant award amounts will be determined after all applications have been received.
Qualifications
In order to qualify for funds a business must:
- Provide evidence of a minimum of 20% revenue loss compared to 2019 sales or revenue, if opened prior to January 1, 2020
- Have been operating prior to March 26, 2020
- Be currently operating within Douglas County with headquarters in Colorado
- Commit to operate for the next six months
- Have a valid business license and be in good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State’s Office
- Not receive funding from other grants established in SB20B-001 (“Arts Relief Program” or the “Minority-Owned Business Relief Program”)
- Have a minimum of 1 employee or a sole proprietorship

Applications are being accepted through March 5, 2021.
Please be prepared to submit the following information at the time of application:
- Receipt from the most recent payment of unemployment insurance payroll taxes
- W-9
- Evidence that applicable County taxes have been paid. This is available at https://apps.douglas.co.us/treasurer/treasurerweb/search.jsp?guest=true. Instructions for downloading the required information is available here.
